Our Story

“I have come that you may have life and have it abundantly”

Our Story

How it all began

The church began in 2010 and was originally called Ashford Vineyard and was part of the Vineyard movement of churches. Chris & Nic Kimmance moved to Ashford from Southend as God prompted them to plant the church, not knowing anyone in the town!
Pneuma Church is a family on a mission and we are about bringing life to the city. We love our town (we often refer to it as a city!) and the people in it.

We believe that God wants people to live life to the full, as Jesus promised, “I have come that you may have life and have it abundantly’! We believe that most people would want that too – to see themselves and their friends and family living a full life. We believe that true freedom is found in the extravagant, relentless and passionate love of God, which is why we want to make it easy for anyone to find Him. We love to build community and to love people and show just how much they are treasured and enjoyed.

Pneuma Church has many elements; from Sunday mornings at The Warehouse, to gathering groups and Culture groups throughout the week, and many Compassion projects in between. Also, make sure you visit our fabulous secondhand clothing boutique and coffee shop in town – The Beehive! To discover more of who we are, do explore this website and you would be most welcome to just turn up at something – that’s what our ‘membership’ looks like. You are assured of a warm welcome, wherever your faith is at, or even if you’re not sure you have one!
